Behavioural Problems

Behavioural problems are no fun! Whether it is your kids or your horses, it’s stressful and it can take the pleasure out of your relationship with your horse. We work with all issues, be they on the ground or in the saddle. Regardless of whether it is aggressive, naughty or fear based behaviour a solution can be achieved.  Horses develop behavioural issues as they attempt to communicate and have no words. These can unfortunately become bad habits if we don’t fix the problem they are trying to tell us about ; the naughty cute habit they get away with becomes out of control; or a phobia becomes a nightmare. The list is endless; biting, kicking, rearing, bucking, bolting, girthing, refusal to pick up feet & misbehaving for the farrier, hard to catch; float, lead, walking.
Without the need for any aggressiveness, any behavioural issue can be sorted. With firm confidence and reassurance we teach the horse not to choose these behaviours. Usually along the way we find out the ‘why’ and resolve that too, helping to ensure that said bad habit will not return. We then work with the two of you to ensure that the habit does not return once you go home.
